The TaDA – Textile and Design Alliance offers a residency program to promote the encounter between contemporary art practice and traditional and innovative textile production in Eastern Switzerland.

The collaborators Selina Reiterer and Oliver Maklott are part of the residency program 2020/21 to further develop their sonic textiles concept.

We found our way

29. September 2020

Taday, while walking back from our shopping for food, we were talking about all the possibilities we see in production with the program’s cooperation partners — as we did already for several times. Suddenly Selina mentioned that every presentation we attended this far, at some point, crossed the subject of pollution and the negative impact of the textile industry on the environment and that we could do something with that. I have to say, I find that a brilliant idea. So I guess there’s a plan now. Woohoo!

The official beginning

24. September 2020

Today was the official start of the program, with all the important people who made it possible. A nice Apreo in PLANeT ONE the vegan restaurant in the ZIK Areal.

The residency’s first day

7. September 2020

Just arrived yesterday evening in the dreamy (part of) Arbon in an awesome loft near the Bodensee. Looking forward to meet all the dwellers. Stephanie and Vinh are already here.

TaDA – Meeting

Not a lot of news here. We will watch the situation around COVID and decide later the course of action. A Jour-Fix will be implemented what I find great. I’m looking forward to exchange ideas on a more regular basis.

It was nice to have finally faces to the names we are writing back and forth for some time now. COVID forced us to a meeting via ZOOM and, quite likely will postpone the residency for us all a bit.
